About the Lara Jean Association Inc
Our mission at the Lara Jean Association Inc. is to provide support for families that have children who suffer from rare genetic disorders.
Our work aims to improve the quality of life of these children who suffer from rare syndromes.
Our objectives are to raise public awareness of rare genetic disorders and its impact on families.
Also:
- To provide direct support to families of newly diagnosed babies.
- To provide funding for medical and scientific research into areas such as rare genetic disorders.
- To help families communicate and improve their social and independent living skills.
- To provide volunteer programs and youth activities aimed at reducting social isolation.
- To provide on-going support and advice to families on both a personal basis and through information libraries.
- To actively respond to the needs of support services and groups.
- To provide valuable information to parents on issues such as social networks and case studies.
- To help fund educational programs.
